Korea's LG Beats Forecasts

LG Electronics, the 3rd largets make of mobile phones, beat earnings estimates for 1Q 2009, and is expecting sales to increase 10% in Q2, 2009. We are expecting mobile handset shipments to raise 16% in Q2.

China Mobile ARPU declines

We note from the latest earnings reports that China Mobile's ARPU in first qtr 2009 was down 11%. Blended ARPU is 73 yuan - about $10.70 - per month. China Mobile is still the world's largest operator with 477 million subscribers.
