South Korea's SK Telecom increased its total customers to 19.34 million. KTF Co. added a net of 9,000 subscribers in September, for a total of12.27 million, and LG Telecom Ltd. gained a net 49,344 users to 6.29 million.
Competition in South Korea's mobile phone market is intensifying as the government allowed consumers to change operators without changing their current mobile phone numbers.
At present, the number of South Korea's cellular users was 38 million, representing 79 per cent of its total population.
